DATE CHANGE: THE 2018 GS HENLEY RELIABILITY RIDE
DUE TO THE ONGOING POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS WE HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION TO POSTPONE THE RELIABILITY UNTIL MARCH 25th – HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THEN!
THE 2018 GS HENLEY RELIABILITY RIDE takes place on Sunday March 25, do come join us, why don’t you? A morning to see just how ready you are for the season ahead – open to all, so let’s see if we can entice as many of you out as possible.
Once you have finished there’s a chance to sit down and refuel at Athlete Services.
The ride is a traditional no thrills test of self-preservation, it’s not a race (!) but a non-competitive ride and is open to all club riders. There are longer and shorter route options, with the longer route having 3 levels of target average speed, so no excuses as there’s something for everyone.
Reliability Rides have been a feature of club cycling for over 100 years. They are not races and are organised to require each entrant to ride over a pre-set course within an agreed time. The routes are planned to necessitate all-round riding ability and not sheer speed. Historically a reliability ride is a test of a cyclist’s reliability and that of their bike coming out of the winter period. The emphasis is on fitness, self-reliance and navigational skills.
The aim of our Reliability Rides is to finish within (and as close to) your target time for the fixed route.
